Publication in the Journal of Public Health Management

This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract and is not a request for competitive proposals. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (NCIPC) hereby announces its intent to award a sole source contract to Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc., Two Commerce Square, 2001 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103 for publication of a supplement in the Journal of Public Health Management (JPHM). The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) in accordance with FAR 6.302-1- only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirement. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 511120, Periodical Publishers. The period of performance for this procurement is one 6-month base period. The purpose of this procurement is for Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc. to provide publication of a supplement in the Journal of Public Health Management (JPHM). Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc. is the only company that can provide this service. A detailed analysis and scholarly support on the topic of injury will be published in a peer-reviewed supplement of the JPHM, a well-respected and widely circulated scientific journal. It is critical that the detailed agenda elements be widely disseminated through a scientific channel such as the JPHM to reach all critical research stakeholders- researchers, public and private funders, policymakers, etc.- if there is to be a reduction in injury rates in the U.S. and worldwide. The JPHM is the only journal that will meet the needs of the dissemination of this information through a scientific channel. No other journal has the impact on the public and medical injury field as much as the JPHM. As a result of this synopsis, no competitive solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps.com. We will issue only one solicitation to Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc. However, all responsible sources who believe they can meet these requirements may submit their capabilities/qualifications to Tonya S. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action will be based on responses to this notice and is solely in the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
