Background Information:The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is currently undergoing a design project for the replacement of the high slope clay tile roof at the Punderson State Park Lodge located at 11755 Kinsman Road in Newbury Township, Ohio. The steep-sloped roof of the original 1925 English Tudor mansion, as well as the mansard roof of the 1965 addition to the east, consists of clay tile shingles. (The extent of the clay tile is highlighted in green in the key plan below.)Construction for the roof replacement is scheduled to start in April 2027. DNR is looking to purchase the material to allow for fabrication of the clay tile shingles due to its anticipated long lead time. Please note: this request is for the tile material only.Specifications:Fabrication and delivery of a 7” wide x 12” long x 5/8” thick shingle style clay tile in a standard color and texture to match the existing clay tile at the building and meeting the requirements for ASTM C1167 Grade 1 tile with a minimum 75-year material warranty. The following accessories are to be included in addition to the standard shingle style field tile: V-shaped ridge and hipped ridge tile, closure pieces at the top, eave, and rake of the roof, as well as graduated tile at the conical roof. An Eagleview report, providing take offs of the building is attached for reference.The Supplier is to provide a total lump sum price for the purchase of the clay tile and all necessary accessories as outlined above.
Evaluation. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder as determined by the State.Contract Award. The contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder by low lot total. Low lot total will be determined by multiplying the unit cost by the estimated usage listed in the bid and then adding each of the totals together to arrive at a total for all items. Failure to bid all items may result in the bidder being deemed not responsive.
