Purchase and Upfitting of Ford Transit Cargo Van

The City of Pasadena is procuring a Ford Transit Cargo Van to be fully upfitted as a mobile Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT) command unit to enhance response capabilities during critical incidents such as hostage situations, search warrant operations, lockdowns, and task force missions. The current fleet vehicle is inadequate for transporting and securing specialized equipment including five cable spools, multiple Pelican cases with electronics and command consoles, folding chairs and tables, canopies, a portable generator, and other essential tools. The new van must provide sufficient internal space, secure storage, and functional workstations to enable efficient training and real-time coordination among multiple CNT personnel. The vehicle will be modified with heavy-duty flooring, adjustable workstations equipped with Getac docking stations and wall-mounted monitors, Motorola APX radio charging stations, magnetic dry erase boards, carpeted and FRP-lined walls, and integrated safety systems such as smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguishers, and a first-aid kit. All components must be constructed using stainless steel fasteners, comply with FMVSS Part 571.302 for interior flammability, and adhere to U.S. National Electrical Code standards.
