NASA intends to establish a firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract with Chemring Energetic Devices in Downers Grove, IL, spanning a 10-year period to procure NASA Standard Initiators (NSI), NSI-3A units, and NASA Standard Detonators (NSD). The anticipated quantities include up to 500 or 1000 units for NSI and NSI-3A, and 200 to 500 units for the NSDs. In addition to fabrication, the contract encompasses staking of NSI and NSI-3A devices, as well as the installation of weld washers on these components. This contract is designed to support NASA's ongoing requirements for these specialized energetics, ensuring a steady supply and quality modifications as needed. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration's Johnson Space Center (JSC) will oversee the procurement, with dedicated points of contact managing both procurement and small business considerations. The use of an IDIQ contract format allows flexibility in order quantities over the duration, tailored to NASA’s operational demands.
