This contract is a commercial firm-fixed-price procurement under FAR Part 12 for the purchase of a positioning table (NSN 5220-01-409-1793, Part Number CD12-AL-MS-720) designed for precise sub-second positioning necessary in inspection, calibration, maintenance, and precision machining applications. The initial order covers a basic quantity of 1 to 3 units, with four option years each allowing for an additional 1 to 2 units annually to support Air Force, Department of Defense, and Foreign Military Sales requirements. All deliveries are to be shipped FOB Origin, and only new items are acceptable, with no surplus allowed. The purchase is justified under the authority of 10 USC 2304(c)(1) due to limited sourcing availability and the government’s lack of data rights for alternative suppliers. The solicitation will be issued around July 21, 2014, with a response deadline approximately one month later, and an anticipated award date in late September 2014. The government encourages all responsible sources, including the known limited suppliers A.G. Davis Gage & Engineering Company and Mid Atlantic Sales Division, to submit capability statements or proposals. Quotes must strictly adhere to the detailed instructions in the RFQ, which will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website, with no hard copies distributed. All questions must be submitted in writing via email to the contracting officer Kelly D. Eller, and responses will be posted publicly to maintain offeror anonymity. Offerors are advised to register on the FEDBIZOPPS site to receive all solicitation updates and amendments prior to proposal submission.
