The Pyke Field Improvement Project proposes improvements to the existing park and recreational facilities at Pyke Field in Crescent City, Del Norte County, California. The proposed project will include installation of a new playground structure with accessible surfacing; replacement and/or installation of new energy-efficient LED field lighting; installation of synthetic turf infields on all three existing ball fields to improve playing conditions, drainage, durability, and year-round usability; installation of new visitor bleachers with new seating to enhance spectator safety, accessibility, and comfort; installation of a new concession stand with public restroom facilities as well as replacement of the existing restroom on Field 3; and installation of a new group area and BBQ area. Associated work may include minor grading and site preparation, removal and replacement of existing infield surfaces, preparation of appropriate base materials and drainage systems for synthetic turf installation, accessible pathways and facility access, utility connections, concrete pads and foundations, minor drainage improvements, landscaping, signage, and other incidental improvements necessary to support the proposed facilities. All improvements will occur within the boundaries of the existing developed park and are intended to improve public access, safety, accessibility, energy efficiency, facility reliability, and recreational opportunities. The installation of synthetic turf infields and replacement of visitor bleachers will further enhance the functionality and long-term sustainability of the existing athletic facilities while supporting continued recreational use. The project will not change the property's existing public park and recreational use.

Wetherell Minor Subdivision of Agriculture Prime Land MS2601C
Solicitation # MS2601C
The Wetherell Minor Subdivision project, identified as MS2601C, involves the division of an approximately 184.1-acre parcel located at 8280 and 8300 Bailey Road in Crescent City, Del Norte County, California. The project aims to separate an existing farmhouse from a dairy barn to allow for the sale of one parcel while maintaining family ownership of the residence. The subdivision will create two parcels: Parcel 1, approximately 56.9 acres, containing the residential structures and detached garage, and Parcel 2, approximately 127.2 acres, containing the dairy barn and manure tank. Both parcels are designed to maintain long-term agricultural viability by ensuring each contains at least 40 acres of Agricultural Exclusive land, complying with local zoning ordinances for Agricultural Exclusive and Resource Conservation Area districts. To support the subdivision, a shared well agreement is proposed to provide water to Parcel 1, as all existing wells will remain on Parcel 2. The project utilizes existing onsite wastewater treatment systems that will remain on their respective parcels. Access to both properties is provided via Bailey Road, and the applicant has requested a modified road improvement standard for a 30-foot-wide right-of-way due to the infeasibility of the standard 50-foot requirement. The Del Norte County Planning Commission is the lead agency overseeing the project, which has undergone environmental review under the California Environmental Quality Act, resulting in a draft negative declaration indicating no significant environmental impacts. All existing land uses and agricultural operations will continue following the approval of the subdivision.
