Presolicitation Notice Sole Source "intent" synopsis The U.S. Department of State, Office of Acquisition Management (AQM) intends to award a firm-fixed price purchase order for the acquisition of Firebird Model Computer Driven Fire Training Simulators to Surrey Fire Safety House, the Master US Distributor for the Pyrosoft Simulators. Pyrosoft is a proprietary manufacturer. The proposed purchase order is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The Pyrosoft simulator was chosen because it is the only manufacturer that offers a totally customizable simulator with properties for any type of fire including electrical, fuel, 3 dimensional and location. It is also the only unit that is capable of video editing techniques to create our own fire scenes for Embassy and Consulate specific scenarios. Lastly this is the only training system that is compatible with the Ansul ABC external cartridge operated type fire extinguishers used by the State Department offices and residences worldwide.
