The Department of Veterans Affairs Healthcare Network Upstate NY is issuing a request for information to identify contractors capable of providing travel oxygen services for patients in the Home Oxygen program. These services are intended for patients relocating from the Northeast, primarily New York State and neighboring states, to other areas within the continental US for climate-related reasons. The duration of these relocations typically ranges from 14 days to one year, and the contractor must support the patient throughout the entire round trip, including all modes of transportation such as air, car, train, bus, and boat. Required services include equipment rental, portable tanks, deliveries, travel devices, training, and patient assessments to ensure VA prescriptions are strictly followed. As this is a new requirement for the network, the government is seeking detailed information on business capabilities, specifically regarding in-flight services, as well as commercial price lists for weekly or monthly costs. Interested parties must provide their business size, locations, and a comprehensive description of available equipment and services to assist the government in developing a formal statement of work. Payment for these services will be handled via Government Purchase Card.
