The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to make a single award for services in Pathology & Cytology, at the Federal Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky, located at 3301 Leestown Road, Lexington, Kentucky 40511. The contractor is to perform Pathology & Cytology services to include: consultant pathology and cytology services at the contractor's laboratory, the contractor will be responsible for the pick-up of specimen's from the FMC; the board certified Pathologist will serve as the Contract Laboratory Director of the FMC Laboratory and will provide monthly in-house visits to the Central Laboratory of a two-hour duration. The contract Pathologist must have the following qualifications: a Doctor of Medicine Degree from an Accredited School of Medicine, must have completed an AMA approved internship/residency in Pathology, must possess board certification in pathology and have a current state license to practice medicine without restrictions. The contract will consist of a base year with four (4) twelve (12) month option renewal periods. The solicitation will be made available on or about April 19, 2005 and will be distributed solely through the General Administrations Federal Business Opportunities website at http://www.fedbizopps.gov/. Hard copies of the solicitation will not be available.The site provides downloading instructions. All future information regarding this acquisition, including solicitation amendments, will also be distributed solely through this site. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring this site to insure that they have the most up-to-date information on this acquisition. The anticipated date of an award is June 15, 2005. This solicitation is set-aside for small business concerns. All responsible sources may submit a quote which will be considered. Faith-Based and Community-Based Organizations have the right to submit quotes equally with other organizations for contracts for which they are eligible.
