The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 07 at the Augusta VA Medical Center, is issuing a Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract to DiaSorin Inc. for the exclusive service and support of the LIAISON® QuantiFERON TB Gold Plus Kits and Controls within the Pathology Laboratory Department. This procurement is justified under FAR 6.302-1 because DiaSorin Inc. is the sole manufacturer and provider of these proprietary products and services, with no other entity authorized or capable of performing maintenance, repair, or supply functions without voiding manufacturer warranties. Only DiaSorin’s trained Field Service Technician Affiliates may perform required services, and any third-party involvement is explicitly prohibited, making this a non-competitive acquisition with no expectation of awards based on unsolicited bids. The contract will be performed at the Augusta VA Medical Center in Georgia, where DiaSorin will ensure all equipment, supplies, and services remain in full compliance with their technical specifications. This notice serves an informational and publicizing function under FAR Subparts 5.101 and 12.202, but it is not a formal solicitation and no bidding opportunity exists. Interested parties may submit a capabilities statement by 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time on July 17, 2026, to demonstrate why full and open competition would be advantageous to the government, but such submissions will not lead to an award unless the government determines otherwise. All submissions must be sent via email to Earnest Ellison, the Contracting Officer, with the exact subject line reference “36C24726Q0651, DiaSorin Liaison XL.” No formal contract clauses, pricing details, delivery schedules, packaging standards, inspection criteria, or financial data are included in this notice, as it precedes award and lacks the structure of a complete contract document. The government retains full discretion to proceed without competition based on the unique nature of the requirements, and no response to this notice guarantees any future procurement activity.
