AI Contract Overview
The Department of Veterans Affairs, through Network Contracting Office 21, is conducting market research to identify qualified contractors for the destruction of controlled substances at Station 593, North Las Vegas VA Medical Center, and associated regional clinics. This effort, identified under NAICS code 541380 and PSC Q399, is intended to support the procurement of a service that ensures safe, compliant, and secure disposal of regulated pharmaceuticals. The requirement is designated as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Set Aside, with preference given to verified SDVOSBs and VOSBs listed in the SBA VetCert portal. Although this is not a solicitation and no funds are available for response preparation, interested parties must submit a capability statement not exceeding five pages detailing their company information, socioeconomic status, technical expertise, and past performance on similar logistics or tracking system maintenance contracts completed within the last three years. Contractors must demonstrate the ability to handle all personnel, equipment, and procedures required for controlled substance destruction while adhering to strict VA information security, patient privacy, and operational protocols. The scope includes compliance with federal regulations surrounding the handling and disposal of controlled substances, though the technical requirements referenced mistakenly mention RTLS sensor maintenance and medical tracking systems—indicating possible draft inconsistencies. All responses must be submitted electronically to Robert Clark at robert.clark4@va.gov by July 16, 2026, at 3:00 PM EST, with the subject line formatted as “Sources Sought Response Controlled Substance Destruction.” The place of performance is in North Las Vegas, Nevada, and only vendors with active UEI numbers from SAM.gov and verified veteran-owned status are eligible for consideration under the set-aside program.
