Title: QCT Cabin


This pre-solicitation notice serves as a synopsis and is posted in accordance with FAR subpart 5.2, Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions.  This is not a solicitation. Vendors shall not submit a quote until, and/or if, the solicitation is posted to the Governmentwide Point-of-Entry via www.SAM.gov. This announcement shall NOT be construed as a commitment by Brookhaven Science Associates LLC (BSA) to award a Subcontract.  Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) reserves the right to use any and all information submitted by, or obtained from, an interested party in any manner BNL determines is appropriate, including, but not limited to, the creation of a competitive solicitation.  


Background:


BNL is a Department of Energy (DOE) National Laboratory multidisciplinary research facility, located on Long Island, New York.  


BNL intends to compete, full and open, for the fabrication of a QCT Cabin in accordance with BNL provided SOW and SPEC documents.


Need:


BNL has the following requirements:


A cabin for the Quantitative Cellular Tomography (QCT) beamline which is a part of the NSLS-II Experimental Tools III (NEXT-III) project to build beamlines at Brookhaven National Laboratory’s (BNL) National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II).


BNL intends to construct a new cabin within NSLS-II's Facility at the 16-BM location on the existing experimental floor. The cabin is expected to function as an enclosure and project interface for the QCT beamline. The cabin shall serve as interface for experimental operations, equipment housing, samples testing, and user analysis.


BNL expects to make one (1) award.


The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 332999, All Other Miscellaneous Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing, and the applicable PSC is 6640, Laboratory Equipment & Supplies.  Interested parties must be registered under the NAICS code in the System for Award Management (SAM) prior to submitting their quotes.


BNL intends to issue solicitation RFP-482620 in support of this requirement. The anticipated award contract type is a firm fixed price contract. BNL anticipates the award date to be on or around April 15, 2027.
