Subject: ENGINEERING, TECHNICAL, DESIGN, CONFIGURATION MANAGEMENT, INTEGRATED LOGISTICS SUPPORT, DATABASE MANAGEMENT FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION, OPERATIONAL, CONVERSION AND DECOMMISIONING SUBMARINES, AND MODERNIZATION SUPPORT FOR OPERATIONAL AND DECOMMISIONING SUBMARINES. ************************************************************ ************************************************************ The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a contract for approximately 5,205,000 man-hours of Engineering, Technical, Design, Configuration Management, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), and Database Management for New Construction, Operational, Conversion and Decommissioning submarines, and Modernization support for Operational and Decommissioning submarines to Northrop Grumman Newport News Shipbuilding. This contract is to provide this effort over a period of five years (one base year and four option years). This effort includes procurement of material to support the services provided. Solicitation N00024-05-R-2109 will be issued to Northrop Grumman Newport News Shipbuilding, 4101 Washington Avenue, Newport News, VA 23607 since they are the only contractor with the unique experience and technical knowledge to provide the support required by the full spectrum of submarine classes.
