Full Description

The Army Contracting Command - Rock Island at the Rock Island Arsenal, IL intends to extend contract W52P1J-11-D-0055 for Logistics Automation Services in the Kuwait Area of Responsibility (AOR). The 1st Theater Sustainment Command (1st TSC) Logistics Automation Branch provides materiel support and integration of Tactical Logistics Systems (TLS) in Theater. Personnel with specific subject matter expertise in Information Assurance (IA) and key logistics systems - supply, ammunition, and logistics command and control - are required to properly design and implement this architecture. These personnel are needed to provide IA compliance guidance, automated logistical support, technical training and assistance to subordinate logistics commanders' staff and Sustainment Automation Systems Management Office (SASMO). The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The current contract is scheduled to expire on 31 May 2013. The new contract will provide for continuation of uninterrupted services for the Logistics Automation services described above. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Not awarding this extension would cause serious harm to the Government. However, the Government will consider responses from all responsible sources received by the date and time identified above. Written responses must include sufficient information to establish capability to fulfill the requirement in the timeframe required. Any responses received will only be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in lieu of the sole source extension described in this notice, and such determination shall be made at the sole discretion of Shanna Smith, the Procuring Contracting Officer.
