Full Description

By way of this notice, and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1 and FAR Part 13.106-1 (b), the National Park Service, Midwest Archeological Center, announces its intent to award a single source purchase order to Gerald R. Ford Conservation Center, Historical Society of Nebraska, 1326 South 32nd Street, Omaha, Nebraska for conservation treatment services with a professional conservation laboratory. The archeological artifacts and documents that will be included in this project are already unstable, hence the need for stabilization through professional conservation treatment. The Ford Conservation Center houses state-of-the-art technical laboratories for the examination, evaluation, and specialized in archeological materials and paper/photographic materials, among other types of cultural objects and documents. Because the artifacts are unstable, they will need to be hand-carried to the conservation facility in a government vehicle. It is in the best interest of the government to use a conservation facility located proximity to the Center. It is anticipated that the resultant project will be a firm fixed price. This notice is NOT a Request for Proposal or Request for Quote, therefore, NO solicitation documents will be issued. An award is anticipated on or about August 22, 2005.
