The USGS Ecosystems Mission Area along with the Upper Midwest Water Science Center, Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Water Science Center, and the Central Midwest Water Science Center has optimized a method to recover infectious avian influenza virus from surface water. For this work, samples are collected using the optimized method to filter surface water that will be processed (eluted and concentrated) at the Michigan Bacteriological Research Laboratory (MI-BaRL). Subsequently, this method requires confirmation of recovery, viability, and type of virus via egg inoculation and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) techniques. A. Scope Collaboration for analysis and reporting are needed for this study. Samples require egg inoculation, extraction, and PCR analysis. Once samples have been analyzed and data has been reported, the collaborator will participate in interpretation of results and writing a manuscript for publication. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. ALL COST ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION AS REQUESTED BY THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. Submission is voluntary. The scope of work will include: Please see attached Performance Work Statement (PWS) A PWS will be provided with any solicitation that may be issued. C--Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) 3DNTM
Solicitation # DOIDSAM27G002
The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has issued Broad Agency Announcement DOIDSAM27G002 to establish partnerships for the acquisition of high-resolution 3D elevation and hydrography mapping data. This initiative, known as the 3D National Topography Model (3DNTM) Data Collaboration Announcement, is divided into two primary opportunities: the 3D Elevation Program (3DEP) for lidar data and the 3D Hydrography Program (3DHP). These partnerships leverage the USGS Geospatial Products and Services Contract (GPSC) to provide critical data supporting infrastructure planning, energy development, mineral discovery, and disaster response. Eligible applicants include federal agencies, state and local governments, tribes, academic institutions, and the private sector, though GPSC contractors and subcontractors are explicitly excluded. Project submissions are due by December 4, 2026, and will be evaluated individually based on project location, areal extent, cost share, proposal maturity, and past performance. Preference is given to projects exceeding 1,500 square miles and those located in priority areas where existing data is five or more years old in the contiguous US, or eight or more years old in Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories. The standard period of performance for these projects is 18 to 24 months. All resulting data must conform to USGS product specifications and will be made available via The National Map Data Download and Visualization Services. Applicants must submit a project summary form, validation of funding partners, and a GIS file defining the project area.
