AI Contract Overview
The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a sole source firm fixed price contract to Sierra Radiopharmacy LLC for Radiopharmaceuticals and associated supplies, citing the unique capability of this vendor to meet urgent delivery requirements of four-hour and same-day service for diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures, even during adverse winter weather conditions that disrupt road travel between California and Nevada. No other licensed or capable vendors have been identified that can reliably fulfill these time-sensitive needs, justifying the use of FAR 12.102 for sole sourcing. The contract period is set for September 1, 2026, through August 31, 2027, with the NAICS code 325412 for Pharmaceutical Preparation Manufacturing and a small business size standard of 1,300 employees. The product service code is 6505 for Drugs and Biologicals, and performance will occur in Reno, Nevada, with the procurement managed by the 261-NETWORK Contract Office 21 located in Mather, California. Interested and responsible parties may submit quotes and supporting documentation demonstrating their ability to meet the stated requirements, including reliable four-hour and same-day delivery capabilities regardless of seasonal weather disruptions. All submissions must be sent to Leah Smith at leah.smith@va.gov no later than August 3, 2026, at 11:00 AM Pacific Time. The Government will not compensate respondents for their submissions, and all responses will be evaluated solely to determine whether a competitive procurement is warranted, with the final decision resting entirely at the Government’s discretion. If no viable alternatives are presented, the sole source award to Sierra Radiopharmacy LLC will proceed. The solicitation number is 36C26126Q1022, and no set-aside program is applicable.
