The US Army Corps of Engineers, Seattle District, is soliciting quotes from potential subcontractors for the design, supply, and installation of a rail system with trolleys to support the life-cycle maintenance of the Chief Joseph Dam spillway gates in Bridgeport, Washington. The project involves creating a rail system equipped with one air-powered trolley and two non-motorized trolleys designed for fall restraint connections, compatible with the dam's Spider ST-17 hoist baskets and platform extensions. This system must be suitable for heavy, frequent outdoor use and comply with a series of rigorous industry and safety standards including NFPA, ASME, CMAA, ANSI, and USACE regulations. The design requires careful integration with the existing spillway bridge structure, including anchorage solutions that must be approved by the USACE and a structural load rating analysis performed according to AASHTO bridge design specifications. In addition to the trolley system, the contract also includes the removal of four existing I-beams at spillway gates 10 and 11 and the installation of 38 new I-beams serving as the rail system, complete with appropriate anchorage. The scope further calls for three radio control pendants and one attached control pendant for operating the powered trolleys. Interested subcontractors are encouraged to contact prime contractors listed in the Interested Vendors List for collaboration and to submit their quotes under solicitation W912DW-17-R-0002. The primary point of contact for this opportunity is Monique Paano, the Contract Specialist based in Seattle, WA.
