Ramona Municipal Water District/Barona Indian Tribe Potable and Recycled Water Infrastructure Project

The Ramona Municipal Water District and the San Diego County Water Authority have entered into an agreement to provide potable water service to approximately 1,784 acres of the Barona Reservation. This project allows for the delivery of up to 1,500 acre-feet of potable water per year and includes the necessary infrastructure improvements to support these deliveries. The project has been certified as having no significant environmental impact through a Mitigated Negative Declaration and an adopted Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Program. The scope of work involves the construction of an 8-inch recycled water pipeline starting at the San Vicente Wastewater Reclamation Plant, with approximately 3,000 linear feet of recycled water pipeline and 2,100 linear feet of potable water pipeline installed off-reservation. The potable line will extend overland approximately 20,200 feet to connect with the existing domestic water distribution system, while the recycled water line will connect to the Golf Course Line. The Ramona Municipal Water District is responsible for the off-reservation infrastructure, while the Barona Band of Mission Indians is responsible for the on-reservation portion leading to the Barona Tribal Office. All work on Wildcat Canyon Road must comply with San Diego County Department of Public Works design standards and permitting requirements.
