On September 9, 2025, The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan) authorized its General Manager to enter into an agreement with San Diego County Water Authority (SDCWA), Barona Band of Mission Indians (Barona), and Ramona Municipal Water District (Ramona) to provide water service to approximately 1,784 acres of the Barona Reservation. The Metropolitan Board has authorized a one-time charge equivalent to the present value of the ad valorem property taxes.
