Reconfiguration of the Vibration Environmental Chamber

SOURCES SOUGHT AND SITE VISIT THIS IS A Sources Sought Notice. The U.S. Government intends to award a contract for the reconfiguration of an existing environmental chamber box and for the fabrication of a new environmental chamber box for use with a multi-shaker vibration system. This synopsis is to advise potential offerors of the upcoming site visit and to give them an opportunity to attend. The Government is seeking sources that can reconfigure an existing environmental chamber box fabrication of a new one. The contractor will be required to develop, fabricate, reconfigure and install a number of subsystems in order to meet the requirements and specifications of the contract. The contractor will also be required to perform an acceptance test as part of this contract. A determination on the contract type, mechanism for procuring the services, and possible set-aside will not be made by the Government until after the market research has been completed. No proposals are being requested or accepted under this synopsis. The anticipated North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) for this requirement is 332312 -Fabricated Structural Metal Manufacturing and the size standard is 500 employees. Qualified companies are encouraged to respond to this notice and or attend the site visit. Site Visit date: 25 October 2016. Time: 10:00 am local. Location: U.S. Army, West Desert Test Center (WDTC), Dugway Proving Ground, UT. The site visit will take place at the U.S. Army, West Desert Test Center (WDTC), Dugway Proving Ground, UT. WDTC is located about 50 miles from the nearest town of any size that has any accommodations. The nearest airport is the Salt Lake City Airport (airport code SLC). Direction to Dugway Proving Ground from Salt Lake City Airport are as follows: Leaving the airport take I80 West for about 50 miles to Exit 77 to Dugway. Go left on State Highway 196 for about 38 miles to the main gate of Dugway. The total travel time is about 1 hour and 34 min. Special Instructions: All personnel for the site visit must be at the main gate by 10:00 hours local time on 25 October 2016. Site visit attendees will be met at the main gate and escorted to the site visit location building #3036. The site visit is anticipated to take around two hours. Vendors wishing to attend the site visit shall RSVP to contact@example.gov by no later than 19 October 2016. The e-mail subject line shall read, "W911S6-16-R-CHBR Site Visit" and the e-mail shall contain the following information: o Full name of attendee o Citizenship o Driver License Number o Driver License state of issue o DOB o Name of Company Respondents to this notice not attending the site visit should provide the following information: (1) business name and address; (2) name of company representative and their business title; (3) pertinent details and experience of doing this type of services (identify any relationship with work conducted with the Government's chemical and biological programs); (4) business size as it relates to the NAICS code and size standard stated in this sources sought announcement; (5) contract types typically used for these types of services; and (6) other contract vehicles that would be available to the Government for the procurement of these services, to include General Service Administration (GSA) Federal Supply Schedules; and/or any other Department of Defense contracts.
