RECOVERY - Provide all plant, labor and equipment for the construction of the Banker Floodway North Levee in Hidalgo County, Texas. The number of miles in this reach is 2.9 miles. Work includes preparation of Right-of-Way for retaining wall/levee improvements, removal and stockpiling, if suitable for re-use, of gravel/topsoil/caliche or riprap; removal of existing pavements and structures; Clearing and grubbing; Installation and maintenance of erosion control measures; Silt fencing, and Construction entrances and exits. Work included in Raising of Levee involves Benched excavation; Placement of embankment; Placement of topsoil; Placement of riprap; and Seeding / re-vegetation of disturbed areas. Contractor will also construct maintenance road with guardrails. Construct retaining wall by preparing foundation and constructing footings. Period of Performance is 150 calendar days. The magnitude of this project is between $1 million and $5 million. Solicitation, plans and specifications will be posted or or before May 12, 2009. This is a 100% HUBZONE set-aside.
