This contract concerns the installation of a solar-powered hot water system as an opportunity exclusively available to the contractor already holding the Construction IDIQ Contract for Texas Zone V. The scope of work includes installing a photovoltaic solar concentrating system along with the necessary support structure and components to ensure full operability. Prior to installation, the contractor must provide water hook-ups in the rooftop mechanical room and ensure continuous hot water supply to the building throughout the process. Specialized services required include renting a licensed crane for material transport to the roof and engaging a qualified roofing contractor to perform all necessary roof penetrations on the building’s flat roof. Additionally, the contractor is responsible for installing electrical infrastructure, notably a 30 amp, 220 volt breaker and power line to support an 80-gallon backup hot water tank, as well as installing a monitoring system for the new solar setup. The contractor must ensure the system is fully operational and conduct start-up procedures and monitoring until the unit is functioning properly.
