This firm fixed price task order, awarded to Alutiiq Global Solutions LLC under the SBA 8(a) program, focuses on the repair and upgrade of the railroad system at Fort Drum, New York. Funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the project involves replacing specific sections of 105 pound main line rail, turnouts, and de-railers with 115 pound rail that meets FHWA and NYSDOT standards. The scope of work is confined to the existing railway right-of-way, starting west of the Village of Calcium and ending at the WYE track at Turnout 16, with strict prohibitions against torch cutting on any installed materials. Modification 01 was implemented as an administrative change to correct the CLIN number from 2002 to 3001, accurately reflecting that the task order was executed during option period 3 starting August 1, 2009. This non-competitive action was utilized to ensure the expeditious expenditure of Recovery Act funds and to provide responsive construction support for installation priorities. The project is expected to have no regulated soil disturbances or impacts on wetlands, tree clearing, or cultural resources.
