Mecklenburg County is seeking a qualified partner to manage the processing and marketing of its Single-Stream and Construction and Demolition (C&D) debris recyclables through a comprehensive recycling operations contract. The solicitation encompasses two primary operational areas: first, evaluating proposals for pricing and qualifications to operate an interim Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) that will handle both single-stream recyclables and C&D debris, and second, assessing the ability to operate the upgraded Metrolina MRF once retrofit and upgrade work is completed. The County prefers to award both the interim and final MRF operations contracts to a single vendor to ensure consistency and efficiency in recycling management. Interested vendors are required to submit proposals that demonstrate their qualifications and pricing strategies for both service areas, with the goal of establishing a seamless transition from interim operations to the fully upgraded Metrolina MRF. The solicitation, posted on April 15, 2024, with a deadline for responses on May 17, 2024, is open to providers capable of meeting the County’s specifications and operational needs within North Carolina. The project falls under NAICS code 238910, indicating a focus on site preparation contractors, and aims to enhance the County’s recycling capabilities through professional management of its MRF facilities.
