Reflective Safety Belts

NOTICE OF PROPOSED PROCUREMENT     The Department of National Defence (DND) has a requirement to procure Reflective Safety Belts. The purpose of this requirement is to provide Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) personnel with safe and improved visibility while exercising outdoors with no or low light conditions. The immediate need is to procure 4,000 Reflective Safety Belts to be delivered within forty (40) days of contract award. Additionally, an option to procure up to an additional 4,000 Reflective Safety Belts per year, for a total of 16,000 Reflective Safety Belts throughout the period of the contract with the same delivery terms. Each Reflective Safety Belt must have the following specifications, at a minimum: (i) Be elastic and have a black heavy-duty clip belt buckle; (ii) Be between 1.5 and 2 inches wide and a minimum of 47 inches long; (iii) Be of yellow or green color, and have one or two reflective strips running the length of the belt; (iv) Be adjustable to fit waist sizes from 26 inches to at least 47 inches with adjustable loop fastener; and (v) Have a minimum visibility range of 1,000 feet and provide 360 degrees of visibility. (vi) Have a white version of the Strengthening the Forces (STF) identifier printed on a black heavy-duty clip belt buckle. The STF identifier must be 3 cm long and must be between 1 cm and 1.5 cm wide. The STF identifier sample provided as Appendix 1 to Request for Proposal (RFP) Amendment 2 – PNG STF Identifier, located under Bidding Details of the solicitation, must be used. The Crown retains the rights to negotiate with suppliers on any procurement.   Documents may be submitted in either official language of Canada.
