Refurbishment of Spillway 1, Lachine Canal National Historic Site

Bid documents must be sent as email attachments.REQUIREMENTThe work under the present contract involves the refurbishment of Spillway 1 at the Lachine Canal NHS. They include, but are not limited to, the dismantling of the existing knife gates, the dismantling of the footbridge and its support system, the concrete resurfacing of the vertical faces of the walls adjacent to the spillway, the concreting of the spillway sill, the replacement of the geomembrane upstream of the spillway and the placement of riprap downstream of the spillway.To assist with bonding and insurance requirements, this project is estimated at a value between $1,000,001 > $5,000,000, Taxes extra.PERIOD OF CONTRACT / DELIVERY DATEContractor shall perform and complete the Work no later than May 17, 2024. SECURITY REQUIREMENTThere is no security requirement associated with this bid solicitation.OPTIONAL SITE VISIT It is recommended that the Bidder or a representative of the Bidder visit the work site. Arrangements have been made for the site visit to be held at 900 Mill Road, Montreal - on the service road along the Silos on February 1st, 2023 at 1:30 PM local time.Bidders must communicate with the Contracting Authority no later than January 31st, 2023 to confirm attendance and provide the name(s) of the person(s) who will attend.Bidders may be requested to sign an attendance sheet. No alternative appointment will be given to bidders who do not attend or do not send a representative. Bidders who do not participate in the visit will not be precluded from submitting a bid. Any clarifications or changes to the bid solicitation resulting from the site visit will be included as an amendment to the bid solicitation.ENQUIRIESAll enquiries of a technical and contractual nature are to be submitted to the Contracting Authority.Enquiries regarding this solicitation must be submitted in writing and should be received no later than five (5) business days prior to the date set for solicitation closing to allow sufficient time to provide a response.
