Full Description

This State funded District Directors Order project (environmental is occurring concurrently with construction) will repair a break in an irrigation mainline near State Route (SR) 178 at postmile (PM) S1.92L in Kern County and install a storm drainpipe near SR 180 at PM R59.36 in Fresno County. The work at the location near SR 178 at PM S1.92L will include irrigation repair, shoring, sidewalk demolition and repair, chain link fence removal and replacement, irrigation electrical repair, and installation of thrust blocks. Construction will dig approximately 9 feet in depth at the SR 178 location. The work at the location near SR 180 at PM R59.36 will include installation of a 24-inch diameter culvert (±81 feet long) and chain link fence repair. Construction will dig approximately 12 feet in depth at the SR 180 location. Vegetation clearing and grubbing is expected at both locations. Traffic control at the SR 178 location is expected to include shoulder and sidewalk closure. Traffic control is not expected at the SR 180 location. All work will be conducted in Caltrans right-of-way.
