The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) herein issues solicitation 15B40126Q00000009 for the award of a firm-fixed-price construction contract for a project entitled Repair Glycol Loop Exchanger at the Metropolitan Correctional Complex (MCC) Chicago, located in Chicago, Illinois. MCC Chicago is a federally owned facility located at 71 W. Van Buren Street, Chicago, IL 60605. The project consists of the following:
The Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) Chicago has a construction requirement for repairing the Glycol Loop Exchanger. The project consists of furnishing all equipment, materials, and labor for the complete repair to the existing Hybrid Fluid Cooler (Model NXF-0603N-CS2TT -J2 / Nexus TM Modular Hybrid Cooler), 2 Pumps with VFDs, and pipework installed throughout the 27-story high-rise to feed 14 heat pump cooling units. This Glycol Loop, and all components, were installed in 2018. The BAC Tower consists of 2 cells; each cell has an exchanger. The two exchangers have small seam leaks that do not allow the pressure to reach the designed pressure of 150 PSI. Both exchangers need to be repaired at MCC Chicago.
Contractors are required to attend a pre-work meeting in order to coordinate and plan with the on-site staff prior to the day of work.
