The Warner Robins Air Force Sustainment Center intends to solicit Lockheed Martin for a new Firm Fixed Price, Requirements Indefinite Delivery Contract to provide repair services for Fire Control Computers used in the B-52 AYQ-10 and B-1 ASQ-184 systems. This effort covers the repair, overhaul, remanufacture, and maintenance of specific components, including NSNs 1280-01-514-5459 AY, 1280-01-512-1505 AY, and 1280-01-619-1370 AY. The scope of work encompasses all labor, materials, facilities, and engineering support necessary to return unserviceable exchangeable units to serviceable condition and investigate Deficiency Reports for non-performing items. Due to proprietary restrictions and the unavailability of technical data, the government is utilizing FAR 6.302-1 to permit other than full and open competition, as the owning contractor possesses the necessary design engineering data to perform these repairs. Some of the deliverables are classified as Critical Application or Critical Safety Items, meaning any failure could lead to catastrophic consequences as defined by the Aviation Critical Safety Item Management Handbook. A solicitation is expected to be issued around October 19, 2026, under solicitation number FD20602600708, with NAICS code 334511.
