The U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), through its Eastern Acquisition Division in Kansas City, plans to award a sole source contract to Aviation Communication & Surveillance Systems, LLC, operating as L-3 Communications, for the repair of three T2CAS Line Replaceable Units used by the NOAA Aircraft Operations Center located at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. The contract will utilize a flat rate repair process, specifically for parts designated P/n 9000000-2xxxx. A Special Notice was initially posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website in January 2015, but no other responses were received, supporting the justification for awarding this contract on a sole source basis.
