The County of Sacramento is seeking proposals for comprehensive engineering and professional services to upgrade the security control systems at the Youth Detention Facility (YDF). This project involves designing, permitting, bidding, construction administration, and close-out phases for critical security enhancements including electronic security systems, detention hardware, PLC door locking controls, detention locks, doors, glazing, key control systems, intercom and paging systems, video surveillance, staff duress systems, wiring infrastructure, fire alarms, classroom audio and video monitoring, power distribution, and backup power systems. Given that the YDF is an active facility located at 9601 Kiefer Blvd, careful phasing of work is necessary to minimize disruption. The project timeline anticipates design work to commence in Summer 2026, with bidding expected in Fall 2027 followed by construction in late Fall 2027. Deliverables include large-format construction drawings, technical specifications, design reviews, bidding support, construction administration, as-built documentation, and development and management of training materials and sessions. The procurement is managed by Sacramento County’s Department of General Services, Capital Projects and Space Division, with a solicitation deadline in early February 2026. Interested parties may contact the designated county officials for the project details or submit proposals accordingly.
