The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command's Research, Development, and Engineering Center at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, is seeking white papers from interested parties regarding advanced motor technology for a new 2.75-inch rocket motor as part of the Advanced Mini Multirole Precision Guided Missile (AMMPGM) program. The aim is to develop a propulsion system with a longer range of approximately 8 kilometers while reducing the motor's length. Key technical challenges to be addressed in submissions include reducing motor volume while increasing range, developing insensitive munitions propellant, achieving a minimum Class 1.3 smoke propellant, managing spin profile and thrust misalignment, ensuring stability in helicopter downwash conditions, preventing helicopter engine surge, and eliminating tip-off errors. Respondents are asked to provide detailed descriptions of existing or near-term technologies relevant to these challenges, along with a summary of their experience in this field. White papers are due within 30 days of the posting date, and technical questions can be directed to a designated contact at Redstone Arsenal. It is important to note that this request is for information purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or a commitment to award a contract or pay for information. However, companies submitting information may be considered for future contract opportunities related to hardware development or ancillary services connected with this missile motor technology effort.
