Contract Overview
Solicitation details, issuing organization, response deadlines, documents, and interested companies for this government contract opportunity.
AI Contract Overview
Argonne National Laboratory operates an Infrastructure Document Control Center responsible for managing construction and facilities engineering records throughout the project's lifecycle, supporting various infrastructure, capital, maintenance, renovation, and engineering initiatives on its campus. Currently, the center lacks an in-house CAD designer or engineer, which limits its ability to update drawings, produce as-builts, and incorporate redlines as project closeouts and drawing update requests increase. To address this, ANL is considering outsourcing both the administrative records management and AutoCAD drawing update functions to a qualified external contractor. To explore this possibility, ANL has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather industry insights on available service providers, ascertain current best practices and capabilities, and guide the preparation of a future solicitation. The solicitation, identified under NAICS code 541990, is a sources-sought notice without set-aside restrictions and is posted by the Department of Energy contractor at ANL’s office in Lemont, Illinois. Interested parties are encouraged to respond by mid-June 2026, with contacts provided for further inquiries.

Full Description
Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) operates an Infrastructure Document Control Center (IDCC) that is responsible for managing construction and facilities engineering records across the full project lifecycle. The IDCC currently supports a wide range of infrastructure, capital, maintenance, renovation, and facilities engineering projects on the ANL campus.
ANL currently does not have a dedicated CAD designer or engineer on staff within the IDCC to support drawing updates, as-built production, and redline incorporation. As the volume of project closeouts and drawing update requests continues, ANL is exploring the potential to outsource both the administrative records management function and the AutoCAD drawing update and maintenance function to a qualified external provider.
This RFI is issued to gather information from industry to help ANL evaluate the availability of qualified service providers, understand current industry capabilities and best practices, and inform the development of a future solicitation.
