Request for Information: DRIVE-BY-WIRE APPLIQUE KITS FOR EXISTING ARMY PLATFORMS

The U.S. Army, through the W6QK Acc- Dta office under the Department of Defense, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) titled “Drive-by-Wire Applique Kits for Existing Army Platforms” with solicitation number PANDTA-26-P-0000037336, aimed at gathering industry capabilities to support future acquisition planning for drive-by-wire (DBW) systems. This RFI is strictly a market survey and not a solicitation, proposal request, or binding commitment to award a contract or purchase any hardware, software, or services. Respondents are invited to describe their ability to engineer, prototype, test, and produce scalable DBW kits capable of integration onto existing wheeled tactical vehicles, tracked combat vehicles, and maritime platforms in the Army inventory, with emphasis on interfacing via standard protocols such as CAN and UDP. Technical interests include decoupled hardware and software architectures supporting continuous integration and deployment, enhanced safety and redundancy including fault detection and cyber resilience, integration with autonomous driving systems and high-performance computing, and simulation-driven development workflows. No specific certification standards are mandated at this stage; the goal is to assess vendor readiness for future system architectures. Submission is voluntary, limited to one response per company, and must not exceed five total pages excluding the title page and certification attachments, formatted in Times New Roman 12-point font with one-inch margins in PDF or MS Word format. All responses must be sent via email to Sandra Wiegand and Alessandro Padro by 3:00 PM EST on July 24, 2026, with the subject line “Autonomous Capabilities for Robotic Ground Vehicles - Industry Feedback.” Controlled Unclassified Information must be transmitted only using NIST or NIAP-approved cryptographic methods such as DoD SAFE, and classified data is strictly prohibited. Any proprietary information must be clearly marked with the “PROPRIETARY” legend on email covers and files, with internal portions enclosed by “PROPRIETARY PORTION BEGINS” and “PROPRIETARY PORTION ENDS” annotations, and accompanied by a release statement permitting distribution to Army personnel and government contractors involved in the review.
