FY26 Bureau of Land Management Youth Conservation Corps - Bureau wide      The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is continuing its Youth Conservation Corps program under the Public Lands Corps Act, partnering with Qualified Youth Corps to engage young people aged 16 to 30, including veterans up to age 35 and tribal members, in natural and cultural resource conservation projects. This initiative aims to provide hands-on work experience in managing public lands, fostering an appreciation for natural resource stewardship, and supporting career development in related fields. The projects funded through this program involve collaboration between state and field office coordinators and focus on practical tasks such as trail building and maintenance, habitat restoration, wildfire risk reduction, cultural resource preservation, and environmental monitoring. Participants are offered skill development, training, and mentorship opportunities, contributing to both the economy and the stewardship of multiple-use public lands. The program also seeks to incorporate goals related to the Indian Youth Service Corps by engaging Indian tribes and tribal-serving youth organizations. Project activities cover a wide range of efforts including soil and stream data collection, archaeological work, educational material development, and seed collection for restoration after natural disasters. Additionally, in-house projects with significant fieldwork components that benefit natural or cultural resources are eligible. This federal contract solicitation, titled “FY26 Bureau of Land Management Youth Conservation Corps - Bureau wide,” was posted in June 2026 with a response deadline in October 2026. The BLM serves as the agency point of contact, supporting these conservation initiatives nationwide with the overall objective of strengthening public land stewardship through youth engagement.
