The goal is to field a modern pylon that meets MIL-STD-1760 series standards and supports heavy weapons exceeding 5,000 pounds in capacity, addressing urgent operational requirements. The program aims to complete the EMD phase within 36 months, culminating in a Critical Design Review, followed immediately by production of 20 to 24 units, with at least 12 delivered in the first year. The Government is evaluating industry feasibility around this aggressive timeline and seeking vendors with proven expertise in designing and manufacturing high-capacity weapons carriage systems. This solicitation is open to all capable industry participants, with particular encouragement for small businesses to respond.
