Request for Information (RFI) - Senior Residential Services

The State of Alaska Department of Health, Division of Senior and Disabilities Services, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for the Senior Residential Services program. This grant program seeks eligible applicants to provide supervised residential services, including meals and assistance with daily activities, for seniors aged 60 and older, adults with Alzheimer's Disease or Related Disorders, and adults 18 and older with physical disabilities. The services are specifically targeted for rural areas of Alaska that lack Pioneer Homes or other long-term care facilities. The project period is scheduled from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2029, with total anticipated funding of 1,845,000 dollars over three years. Individual awards are capped at 205,000 dollars per year and will be distributed from State General Funds. To be eligible, applicants must be able to obtain or maintain an SDS Provider Certification, a State of Alaska License to Operate an Assisted Living Home, and Medicaid Waiver Certification for Residential Supported Living Services, all within three months of an award notification. Additionally, providers must maintain skilled nursing staff. The evaluation process will consider the organization's mission and experience, facility descriptions and photographs, and estimated annual costs. Depending on the level of interest and available resources, the state may issue either a competitive or non-competitive Request for Proposals. All responses must be submitted through the GEMS portal by February 9, 2026, at 3:59 PM.
