Soquel Creek Water District (District) and the City of Santa Cruz Water Department (City) are proud to collaborate on a joint proposal to enhance water education opportunities for elementary school students from Santa Cruz to La Selva Beach. Recognizing the shared responsibility of promoting environmental stewardship and water sustainability, this partnership aims to expand the reach of the District's long-standing Water Education Assemblies to now include schools within the City of Santa Cruz and the Santa Cruz water service area. By combining resources, expertise, and a unified message, we strive to inspire the next generation of water stewards with engaging, science-based programs that align with California’s educational standards and address critical local water challenges such as groundwater sustainability, water conservation, and the One Water concept. The District and City are requesting proposals from qualified organizations to provide engaging, on-campus water education assemblies for designated elementary schools within the District’s service area, Live Oak, and the City of Santa Cruz. The selected firms will provide educational performances rotating up to eight school years (Fall 2025-Spring 2033), ensuring diverse and dynamic student presentations each year. Up to four (4) selected performers will be contracted for the entire term and guaranteed to perform two times. The performers will rotate their performances annually to maintain variety and engagement across participating schools.
