Request for Proposals Sidewalk Construction Services

The Village of Schuylerville is soliciting proposals for the SAM Sidewalk Project, which involves the installation of approximately 10,211 square feet of 5-inch thick concrete sidewalks on the east side of Broad Street. The project area extends from the northern village limit near the cemetery to 166 Broad Street. All construction must adhere to ADA Title II requirements and NYSDOT 2002 Specifications for Class A mix, utilizing 4000 psi concrete and approved NYSDOT source materials. The Village will be responsible for the demolition and removal of existing sidewalks, while the contractor must complete all installation work by December 1, 2026. Proposals are due by October 7, 2026, and must include a cost worksheet, a non-collusive bidding certification, a procurement lobbying law affirmation, and an equal employment opportunity statement. Selection will be based on a best-value methodology considering cost, schedule, quality of work, and references, with encouragement for NYS Certified Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises to apply. Awarded contractors must comply with New York State Labor Law Article 8 regarding prevailing wages and maintain specific insurance coverages, including 1 million dollars per occurrence for general liability and 1 million dollars for automobile liability.
