--Requirement for Panasonic Toughbook Computers

This requirement is being advertised pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 5.101(a)(2). This is a notice of intent to award a contract based on brand name items or items deemed peculiar to one manufacturer pursuant to FAR Parts 11.104(b) and 11.105(a). It is anticipated that this requirement will be awarded as a firm fixed price contract pursuant to the simplified acquisition procedures of FAR Parts 12 and 13. This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. The US Army 1st Info rmation Operations Command (1st IO CMD) has a requirement for Panasonic Toughbook Ruggedized Notebook Computers. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 423430 Computer and Computer Peripheral Equipment and Software Merchant Wholesalers with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This requirement is a 100 percent set aside for 8(a) certified small business concerns. Although this is not a request for competitive quotations, interested sources are not precluded from and may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement or submit proposals. Only Authorized Panasonic Resellers that are recognized by Panasonic to sell their product will be considered. All interested sources m ust submit, with their proposal, written documentation from Panasonic showing that offeror is authorized to provide all of the following items: Toughbook Ruggedized Notebook Computer  Part Number: CF-Y4HWPZZBM (Quantity: 20); Panasonic 512MB Memory Centrino  Part Number: CF-WMBAV0512 (Quantity: 20) Delivery of these items to is required by no later than 28 September 06.
