The New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute is offering a three-year funding opportunity totaling nearly $7 million annually to enhance health equity in underserved areas with high rates of HIV and sexually transmitted infections. The initiative aims to address social determinants of health that contribute to disparities in transmission and outcomes. The funding is divided into two components: one focusing on providing Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) services within primary care settings, and the other supporting Young Adult Community Access Programs (YACAP). Eligible applicants must be prequalified in the Statewide Financial System and submit their applications electronically by January 7, 2025, with the contract beginning on July 1, 2025, and ending June 30, 2028. The program encourages multiple applications per site or region, with specific goals for minority and women-owned business participation, and emphasizes statewide coverage across all New York counties. The application process involves detailed questions, with a designated contact for technical and substantive inquiries, and adherence to strict submission deadlines. The contract aims to foster collaborations with established healthcare providers and community organizations to improve HIV prevention and care services, ultimately reducing disparities and promoting health equity across New York State.
