The New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute is offering a funding opportunity aimed at increasing access to hepatitis C treatment and achieving cure, with a strong emphasis on health equity. The initiative allocates approximately $5.9 million annually over five years to support programs that address three key components: integrating hepatitis C treatment within primary care settings, developing low-threshold treatment models to reduce barriers to care, and utilizing telehealth and telementoring to reach rural and marginalized populations across all counties in New York State. Eligible applicants must be prequalified in the Statewide Financial System and can submit separate proposals for each component, with a maximum of one application per component. The procurement process is highly structured, with key dates including the release of the RFA on September 25, 2025, a question submission deadline of October 9, 2025, and the final application due date on November 18, 2025. The RFA emphasizes increasing treatment capacity and reducing disparities among populations most affected by hepatitis C, including rural and marginalized communities. It encourages applications from organizations with prior experience in similar procurements, including hospitals, health networks, and community health providers. The funding aims to support innovative service delivery models that facilitate treatment in diverse healthcare settings, ultimately working toward the elimination of hepatitis C in New York State. Applicants are advised to submit their proposals through the designated online portal and ensure compliance with all submission requirements, including M/WBE subcontracting goals of 15%. The program is managed by Colleen Flanigan, RN, MS, with all substantive questions directed via email for clarification.
