RFB No. 27-0010 USED & CONFISCATED FIREARMS FOR CREDIT OR SWAP

The Columbus Consolidated Government Police Department has issued Request for Bids No. 27-0010 for the sale of a lot containing 306 used and confiscated firearms. The City is seeking a licensed firearms dealer to acquire these weapons in exchange for either a credit or a direct swap for new Heckler & Koch MR556 A4 SBR 11” rifles (Part No. 81001048) and accessories. The replacement rifles must meet specific technical requirements, including a 5.56 x 45 mm caliber, gas-operated short stroke piston operation, and a rotating bolt, accompanied by three 30-round magazines. The primary evaluation factor for the award will be the quantity of the specified equipment provided by the dealer. Bids must be submitted via the OpenBids portal no later than October 14, 2026, at 2:30 PM Eastern Time. Interested parties may schedule inspections of the confiscated firearms by appointment. Once a vendor is notified of the award, they must deliver the replacement equipment within ten calendar days, or the City reserves the right to cancel the contract. The solicitation is governed by the Procurement Ordinance for the Consolidated Government of Columbus and requires compliance with various federal standards, including non-discrimination, Buy America sourcing, and specific labor and safety regulations.
