AI Contract Overview
Ventura County Probation Agency (VCPA) is seeking qualified providers to manage Medi-Cal billing and revenue cycle functions for its youth correctional facility, which serves up to 85 youth and young adults aged 12 to 25. The agency's health services are delivered around the clock by a team of clinical and non-clinical professionals, and future plans include submitting Medi-Cal claims for reimbursement of pre-release services provided within the last 90 days of incarceration. These services are categorized into fee-for-service and bundled rates, with the fee-for-service covering clinical consultations, offsite laboratory and radiology services, medications, and medication-assisted therapy, while the bundled rates encompass health risk assessments, care coordination, reentry planning, and post-transition support, paid via capitated rates with certain frequency limitations. Currently, VCPA does not operate an electronic health record or billing system, emphasizing the need for an external provider to handle all aspects of Medi-Cal claim generation, submission, and management. The contract opportunity is valued between $500,000 and $2 million, with a response deadline of October 2, 2024. The solicitation aims to identify experienced service providers capable of supporting the agency’s revenue cycle needs within California, ensuring compliance with Medi-Cal reimbursement processes and optimizing financial recovery for the services rendered.
