AI Contract Overview
The Department of Defense, specifically the United States Air Force, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to conduct market research for Heavy Duty Tugs to be delivered to Edwards Air Force Base, California. This RFI is strictly for informational purposes and not a solicitation for proposals or a promise of contract award. The primary aim is to identify qualified potential suppliers, understand their capabilities, and classify their business size according to federal standards, including small and large business distinctions and socioeconomic categories. Interested vendors are required to submit information that includes company details, experience relevant to the Heavy Duty Tug specifications as outlined in the attached Statement of Requirements, business size classification aligned with NAICS code 333924 for Industrial Truck, Tractor, Trailer, and Stacker Machinery Manufacturing, and any other information that might assist the Air Force in its market research. Submissions must be clear, concise, and complete, limited to three pages, and must demonstrate the ability to fully meet the requirement without partial support. The government emphasizes that no costs incurred in responding will be reimbursed, and no solicitation document currently exists. Responses are due by 12:00 PM Pacific Daylight Time on June 10, 2026, and inquiries may be addressed to the designated points of contact at the Edwards AFB office. This process is intended to gather data on potentially capable vendors to inform future acquisition strategies.
