The BRA is soliciting sealed proposals for the EWCRWS Infrastructure and ExpansionThe “1B1D PROJECT” represents two critical expansion improvements to the Brazos River Authority’s (BRA) East Williamson County’s Regional Water System Water Treatment Plant (EWCWTP); Phase 1B and Phase 1D.The Phase 1B Trinity Well Infrastructure Improvements will use cooling towers to treat up to 4 MGD of groundwater from the existing Trinity Well #1 for blending with treated surface water from Granger Lake. Trinity Well #1 is located on the campus of the EWCWTP. Additionally, Phase 1B work located at the EWCWTP includes significant chemical monitoring and distribution systems, stormwater system, upgrades to electrical and automation, and access road improvements that provide future buildout resilience. Phase 1B has schedule priority. The Phase 1D Short-term Expansion continues improvements at the EWCWTP to treat up to 13 MGD of additional surface water from Granger Lake by expanding raw water pumping capacity, upgrading storage reservoir inlets, outlets, and pumping capacity, upgrades to existing chemical systems, upgrades to electrical and automation systems, new rapid mix system, two new clarifiers, modify piping at four existing filters, four new additional filter systems, new backwash basin demolition of existing components and structures being replaced or removed, an additional 4.25 MG of finished water storage capacity for storage of blended treated groundwater (from Phase 1B) with treated surface water (from Phase 1D), and access road improvements. Phase 1D also includes a new medium service pump station for transmission of the finished water to the BRA’s existing and potential new customers, while providing future buildout resilience for longer term expansion.
