RFP 2619, WA ELAP accredited laboratory to analyze river samples for E. coli bacteria

The WA State Department of Ecology’s Environmental Assessment Program is soliciting bids for laboratory analysis of non-potable water samples for Escherichia coli (E. coli). Our objectives are: Have a Washington State Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (WA ELAP) accredited local laboratory analyzing water samples for E. coli using either NA-MUG membrane filtration (Standard Methods 9222I or equivalent) or Colilert Quanti-Tray (Standard Methods 9223B or equivalent) in non-potable waters, while meeting holding times and providing applicable quality assurance. Laboratory must be located within 1-hour driving distance of Ecology’s Central Region Office in Union Gap, WA or the study area (Goldendale, WA). Report analysis results electronically to Ecology, including relevant quality assurance information. Depending on driving distance, we might need the option to work with the laboratory for timely drop-off of samples, either by late sample drop-off (after 5pm) or possibly meeting a laboratory courier, as needed, to meet sample holding times. Obtain these services for one full year for the main study, with the option of extending the services for a limited number of samples during a second year.
