The Airport Authority is undertaking progressive upgrades to the Sea Island (SI) perimeter dike to accommodate sea level rise due to climate change. The segment scheduled for upgrading in 2026 is located primarily within the Sea Island Conservation Area (SICA) East, extending approximately 2.5 km along the northeastern shoreline of SI from McDonald Road to Grauer Road.
