Greenville Public Schools is soliciting bids for a complete replacement of a stadium surface approximately 88,480 square feet in size, intended for high school football and other sports. The scope of work includes the removal and legal disposal of existing turf and infill, and the installation of a new system featuring a 2.0-inch pile height and a minimum face yarn weight of 40 ounces per square yard. The District prefers factory-tufted markings to eliminate separate cuts and perimeter seams, as well as white or light-colored reduced-heat infill. Award will be granted to the lowest-priced responsive and responsible bidder who demonstrates relevant installation experience and manufacturer authorization. The project requires strict adherence to performance standards, including a Gmax shock absorption value below 165 and specific permeability testing under ASTM F2898. Bidders must provide a nonprorated system warranty for at least eight years and submit a detailed schedule including mobilization and shop drawings. Financial requirements include a bid security of at least 5% of the award amount, 100% performance and payment bonds, and commercial general liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence. Payments are based on monthly itemized requests with a 10% retainage until the work is 50% complete.
