The County Commissioners of Kent County, Maryland are requesting proposals from qualified contractors for the rehabilitation of the Butlertown Water Tank, in accordance with Chapter 49 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County (CPLL). The Butlertown Water Tank is an ellipsoidal water sphere constructed in 2009 with a 250,000-gallon capacity. The tank is part of the Worton Water Service Area, which also includes a second 125,000-gallon storage tank located at the Worton Water Treatment Plant. An inspection was performed by Mumford-Bjorkman Associates, Inc. on April 30, 2024, and the inspection report and photographs are included as an appendix to the RFP. In general, the scope of work includes preparation and painting of interior wet and dry surfaces, exterior surfaces, and associated repairs. The Request for Proposals (RFP) schedule is as follows:  January 15, 2026: RFP posted on eMaryland Marketplace Advantage (eMMA) and Kent County’s Request for Proposals webpage January 29, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.: Mandatory pre-bid meeting at the project site, 25021 Heather Lane, Worton, MD 21678 February 12, 2026: Questions due by 12:00 p.m. February 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.: Bids due and bid opening at 709 Morgnec Road, Chestertown, MD 21620 March 14, 2026: Tentative award by the County Commissioners
